Merry Christmas to all my friends and a happy new year.

A lot of things have happened since I wrote the last time.

First of all my little princess was born November 20th, three weeks and two days before she was expected.  I did expect her early because thats my style so I wasn’t so surpiced when she decided to come that early.  She didn’t want to make it easy though, she was taken by C-section because she wanted to come out with her foot first.  She was 2720 gr (don’t know if you use gr or what in the US ).  The little princess has not been given a name jet that will be sometime in the year 2012.  She is growing fast and keeps me busy feeding her every 3 hours.

The house is now about to be finished.  We got our new bathroom ready before Christmas, now it’s just a little bit of painting left.  I am very happy off all the changes, I have a new bigger kitchen and a new and bigger bathroom.  All bedrooms painted and new flor put on, and the house that was before two appartments is now like one appartment.

Maríanna is now away for Collage.  She went to the same College as I went to in Laugarvatn.  She is glad to bee there and is doing well.  Einar Trausti is having his confirmation next spring and I celebrated my 40th birthday last summer so we are all keeping busy.  I am on my maternity leave until end of May but I will try not to go to work until August.

Well, as usual busy times.  Lambs are coming, school is over, Grímsvötn has erupted and summer is supposed to be here.  We have been busy at home trying to finish our new kitchen.  I cooked the first lunch there yesterday.  You can follow at my picture site here.

The eruptin in Grímsvötn was quick but did alot of damaged on the farms closest to the glacier, we did get a little ash but that was nothing.

I am busy at work as usual.  Maríanna has finished her school and is going away for collage next winter.  She will not go far just to the same school I went in at Laugarvatn   Einar Trausti is working at home helping his dad this summer.

Hi everyone

Well since Christmas has been a busy time, finishing the guest/tv room and planning my new kitchen.  Well I am orderning next week so I better be ready with my idea.

Work has been busy too, I went on a worktrip to London in the beginning of January to the annual Bett show,  which is a educational / ICT show.  Also a good timing for sales in London.  Oxfordstreet has some wonderful shopping centers.

Now I’m running into the time of parties.  We are having our annual celebration at work next weekend and the weekend after that there is a big annual gala dance here in our county, so I am having my annual headake for what I am supposed to wear at these parties.  But this year my theme is recycle my old dresses

Hi everyone

I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Well it’s Christmas again, I use my Christmas vacation to rebuild and paint the guestroom in my house.  Also I am trying to decide how my new kitchen is going to be. The old one is not suitable for a lady with a broken neck also it is the same age as Svanur so it is way to old.  We have been rearranging in the house,  breaking walls, painting and moving bedrooms around.  Our new bedroom is great, and the kids all have new bedrooms, the guestroom is looking good and next project is the kichen and bathroom.  Hopefully we will bee done by spring.  More pictures here

Well other than working on the house, I am doing fine.  Keeping busy at work and being a mom.  Kids are busy at school, sports and music lessons.  And Svanur is keeping busy at the farm.

Well  after a nice summer the fall is arriving with school and work, the weather does not know it jet but we propably just have to wait for a little while and the weather will notice the fall also.

I have been busy at work driving around South of Iceland starting the computer system’s at schools. The kids started their school on the 23rd of August and Maríanna started her school season with going to Denmark with her class.  Now ahead is a busy time gathering the sheep and the usual work in the fall, filling up the freaser with meat and stuff.

The family did get a whole four days of vacation  together and we went to Vestmannaeyjar on a big family meeting. I will put some photos on my Picasa site so that you can see.  This photo here is from Vestmannaeyjar where my parents and brother’s were born.  The weather was not very nice but it was fun meeting all the realatives.

My trip to USA was a nice one I didn’t think I would ever see some of the people I did meet in this trip.  Now I know it is soo easy to travel to Niles so maybe I will bring my kids over some day.  I felt like I just left Niles yesterday when I arrived this summer but jet there were exactly 20 years since I left.  To all you people I meet I just want to thank you for the time and all the things you did for me.

hi all of you

Well I thought I was keeping this blog updated but oh well the last months has gone way to quickly.  The Volcanic eruption has been the main issue here in Iceland since March but we didn’t get any ashes here in Tungufell.  Today though we are getting alot of it blowing from the volcano even though it has stopped erupting.  That is harmless but just annoying because everything gets dirty.

Me and Svanur have been changing alot in our house, breaking down walls and such things.  So that has been keeping my free time busy since Christmas.  It is so much fun to finally be able to do things in your home just like you want to.

Today is a year since Maríanna’s Confirmation, the spring (summer) arrived early this year and we hope to be able to harvest early. 

I got my invitation to the 20th Class reunion in Niles, I even thought I would not be able to arrive but maybe, just maybe I will be able to meet all you guys in Niles July 17th, I will keep you posted.

Well as you can se I am keeping busy doing all kind of things besides of working full time away from the home.  I am so glad the summer is coming because I have not been able to take any summervacation in two years since I my accident was the first day of my last vacation.

Christmas here again, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year, thanks for all the wishes and thoughts this summer.

This year has been busy as always, Maríanna got her Confirmation and her retainers, my accident in June, me and Svanur finally looking forward to living together without an additional person living in our home.

I am still working as an administrator at a computer company in Selfoss and I’m driving around working in different schools.  I also work as a teacher one day a week which is good and there for I don’t have to drive as much around.

I have been waiting for the last 15 years, the house for Svanur’s brother is arriving today and soon he will be moving to his own house.  It surtainly pays to be patient. I can do what ever I want to on my own home, yesssssss.

Well my neck is healing fine and I am geting stronger every day.  My mom and dad moved back to their home and went on their sommerholliday.  I will start working again in middle of August but I hope I will be strong enough to do that.  Then I still have to take my summervacation but I will probably do that in the wintertime, maybe I would even be able to visit Florida if the currency changes for the better.

I was just starting my summer vacation  when the accident happened, on my second day, I now get a sick lease and then have to take my summervacation later.

Well moms have to do all kind of things here in Tungufell like riding horses and gather sheep to and from the mountains like I was taking the sheep to the mountains when this happened.

Maríanna and Einar has been working alot for me and doing things around the house.  I am not in any pain, the operation went well and I feel more in pain where the doctors took the spare part of a small bone from my hipbone to put in between the two vertebras that broke, now they have to heal together.

I am trying to do like the doctor says, sleep, eat, rest, and let others take care of my. But it is soo hard.  I am glad though that the weather has been good and my kids made me a bed outsite on the porch so I can walk between beds.  I have a neck brace i have to wear when I walk around but can sleep without it.  I also have to work on the muscles in the neck so that they don’t just become to weak.

Of course this was a big shock for all of us and a reminder of that we are not eternal.  Now when the building of the other house is almost finished and me and Svanur can at last start to live together like a normal family this day kind of became a starting day for something new.  Now we just have to do all the things that have been waiting for the last 15 years.

I will keep you posted and maybe get someone to take some pictures of me wearing that rediculus neck brace.

Hi there, long time no hear

Well I just had to write today because yesterday Maríanna had her confirmation.  It was að beutyful day in our little church here in Tungufell, and after the ceremony we went to the historical place Skálholt to enjoy the rest of the day with family and friends.  My brother from Switcherland took a trip to Iceland to spend the day with us, and is using the trip to visit Iceland some more.  I really missed my brother Gonni who is recently moved to Idaho USA.
